Answers from the Invisible
By Kelly Mowrer
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11:3 - New International Version (NIV)
When I'm facing a hard situation, I often have an underlying sense of urgency to try to organize my details and emotions and develop an action plan to get through and get past. I want to know how it's going to play out and how I'm going to handle things. I want the recipe to follow, a set of instructions to take me step by step in a way that allows me to feel like I can competently manage the situation. My sense of peace and equilibrium is tied to my ability to see how this will successfully resolve.
But God's solutions begin with the invisible.
While I'm desperately trying to see a clear way forward, He's preparing deliverance in a way unknown and unimagined by me.
The universe--what I now see around me--came by His command that made something appear out of nothing.
In the situations I face, I don't need to focus on trying to see solutions that God has not yet commanded to become visible to me. By faith, I can know that the Creator continues to specialize in making something out of nothing; bringing peace out of no hope; and giving victory out of no resources.
What God does comes from a place I cannot see and starts in ways I cannot know.
By faith, I affirm that my life path is designed by His command, so that the solutions I eventually see do not come from what is initially visible.
